For the Buffalo Bills, it’s the offseason, which means Stefon Diggs trade rumors are sure to heat up, as they seemingly do every year. It doesn’t help that the former All-Pro receiver often makes cryptic comments that are either misconstrued, blown out of proportion, or hint at something bigger behind the scenes.

Making his first public comments since the Bills’ season ended, Diggs admitted he’s headed into the offseason with a great amount of uncertainty surrounding his playing future.

“I can’t tell you what the future holds, but I’m still being me.”

Stefon Diggs on his time with Buffalo Bills

We wouldn’t want Diggs to be anyone other than the dominant wide receiver he’s proven to be, but as we’ve seen before, trade talks can pick up quickly, and he’s certainly a player many teams covet. With even Diggs not knowing what the future holds, this feels like the perfect time to evaluate other options. But what teams would be most interested in trading for Diggs? Here are five we came up with.

Stefon Diggs joins New Orleans Saints six years after NFC Conference Championship elimination

Chances are New Orleans Saints fans haven’t gotten over the time the Minnesota Vikings eliminated them from the playoffs in the 2018 NFC Conference Championship. Dubbed the ‘Minneapolis Miracle’, we guarantee Diggs hasn’t forgotten either.

Yet, Diggs was traded away from the Vikings just a year later, and he hasn’t missed the playoffs since. Now 30, Diggs likely doesn’t want to risk joining a team that isn’t set to do damage in the postseason, and the Saints, who are in the NFL’s weakest division, may be a strong fit. Michael Thomas is disgruntled, which could lead to his departure. While Chris Olave is a great weapon to have, Derek Carr needs more than just one gamebreaking receiver to lead a top scoring offense. Adding a player like Diggs would certainly help.

Carolina Panthers get Bryce Young a No. 1 receiver

This offseason is all about making sure the Carolina Panthers get Bryce Young all the help he needs to fulfill his potential. Hiring Dave Canales helps, but several more moves still need to be made in Carolina. Aside from reinforcing the offensive line, one of the top priorities should focus on finding a No. 1 wideout capable of complementing Adam Thielen. Without a first-round pick, finding a proven talent may be difficult this offseason.

However, the Panthers do have a collection of young talent, along with Brian Burns, who’s set for free agency. Yet, the Bills also have needs of their own, and if the Panthers were able to work out a sign-and-trade that sends Burns to the Bills in exchange for Diggs and a draft pick or two, both teams could fill needs with one major blockbuster.

Washington Commanders bring Diggs back home to Maryland

Back when he was a member of the Vikings, trade rumors involving Diggs headed back to Washington became a common occurrence. Surprisingly Diggs did get traded, and he did end up closer to his Maryland roots, but the Commanders likely weren’t a top landing spot for the Pro Bowl receiver at the time of the deal.

However, now that new ownership has taken over, leading to a complete overhaul from the top down, the Commanders could be viewed as a much more appealing home for Diggs. Not to mention, being in line to add a top QB prospect like Drake Maye could end up being a major swing factor if Diggs has any say in his next team.

Diggs teams up with Patrick Mahomes on Kansas City Chiefs

They say if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. For Diggs, he’s never gotten past the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs. Somehow, they just have the Bills’ number. The biggest difference could be coaching, but a much more likely reason is due to the greatness of Patrick Mahomes.

While Diggs has it pretty good, catching passes from Josh Allen, he still doesn’t have a Super Bowl ring on his finger, and teaming up with Mahomes seems like a surefire way to hoist a Lombardi Trophy. With the Chiefs still scrambling in their search to replace Tyreek Hill (although still doing quite well without him), adding a playmaker like Diggs could be a great way to open up Andy Reid’s offense again.

New York Giants reunite Brian Daboll with Stefon Diggs

There may not be a team with a bigger need for a No. 1 receiver than the New York Giants. Darren Waller was added last offseason, but durability concerns came back to bite the talented field-stretching tight end. So, when Waller isn’t available, that leaves Saquon Barkley on an island of his own, with defenses paying extra attention to the Pro Bowl running back.

With Daniel Jones eventually set to return from his mid-season injury, the Giants must provide their $160 million QB with more talent if they want this offense to thrive. Brian Daboll is an offensive-minded head coach, but we just haven’t seen his wizardry put to good use in the Big Apple quite yet.

However, Daboll got this job thanks to his wild success in Buffalo, where Diggs was a superstar. Reuniting the two again could lead to the most explosive offense Giants fans have seen in several years. Not to mention, with four picks in the top 70 selections of the NFL Draft, the Giants likely have the capital to pull off a blockbuster move like trading for Diggs.
