Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield started Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans having completed 9-of-10 passes.
However, it was the 11th pass that might have season-altering consequences for both the former No. 1 pick and his team.
Mayfield threw an interception into the hands of Justin Reid on that pass, ultimately injuring his left arm in an attempt to make a tackle.
Obviously, the Browns and their fans hope it is not as serious as it looks. With that said, Baker Mayfield was seen holding his left arm after he exited the field. He ended up making his way to the locker room. He ended up making his way back to the sideline and was seen throwing with teammate.
This comes immediately after Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills with an injury of his own.
No one wants to see quarterbacks go down this early in the season. And as it relates to Cleveland, the team’s Super Bowl aspirations depend pretty much on the extent of the injury. Case Keenum is Mayfield’s backup.
We’ll have further updates as they become available.
