Update: Turner Sports’ Chris Haynes reports that the Lakers believe Anthony Davis avoided a concussion and should be good to go for Game 6 on Friday.
Los Angeles Lakers star forward Anthony Davis has been dominant for most of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Golden State Warriors.
That continued with AD scoring 18 first-half points as Los Angeles looked to close out Golden State on the road Wednesday night in Game 5.
Unfortunately, Davis exited the game with 7:34 remaining in the fourth quarter and his Lakers down 101-88. Davis suffered a head injury after being elbowed by Warriors big man Kevon Looney. As you can see below, AD was wobbly before leaving the floor.
Davis was ruled out for the remainder of the game almost immediately after he suffered the injury. We’re not going to speculate on the severity. That will come after the game when head coach Darvin Ham and Co. address the media. What we do know is that Davis was escorted in a wheelchair for further examination.

In the end, Golden State staved off elimination with an 121-106 win over the Lakers. It must also be noted that Los Angeles was surprisingly minus-22 with Davis on the court Wednesday evening after the team was plus-12 with him playing over the first four games.
