It looks like in just a matter of a few practices, Aaron Rodgers may have already found the receiver that is going to be his top target with the New York Jets.
There is a great deal of positivity surrounding the New York Jets right now. While they disappointed late in the season with a six-game losing skid that scuddled their playoff hopes, the team showed a lot of promise in 2022. Several young players emerged as potential long-term stars and their defense became one of the best in the sport.

However, the main reason there is so much hope around the organization is from the addition of future Hall-of-Famer Aaron Rodgers. The four-time NFL MVP is still an elite-level quarterback, and there are many around the league that believe he is the sort of missing ingredient that could help make the team legitimate Super Bowl contenders in 2023.
However, there were certainly questions surrounding him heading into his first training camp with the Jets.
Garret Wilson quickly turning into a top option for Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers’ reputation was certainly damaged in recent years as he had issues with the Green Bay front office during several offseasons and clashed with his young receiving corps last year. However, a Monday report from Pro Football Network’s Adam Caplan revealed that “Whether it was bonding with his new coaches or with some of the front office members, Rodgers made it a point to connect with members of his new team,” over the last month.
This is certainly a great sign for the team as Aaron Rodgers is putting a serious effort into building connections with his new teammates and coaches and just seems to have a far more positive approach to the game this summer.
However one of the most notable relationships the legendary quarterback is forging is with one specific receiver. “So far in training camp, word around the team is Rodgers, who is in his 19th NFL season, has been very sharp in practice and has quickly developed outstanding chemistry with second-year wide receiver Garrett Wilson in particular.”
Wilson won AFC Offensive Rookie of the Year honors last season, so him shining with the help of Rodgers in his second season and the pair clicking isn’t surprising. However, the fact the two have developed the connection so quickly is huge, especially when former Packers receiver Allen Lazard is now on the roster and could have been an easy default option for the QB in the first few weeks of practice.
It is an excellent sign for the New York Jets’ prospects in 2023.
