Aaron Rodgers delivers pointed message to teammates in return to New York Jets

While he’s not ready to play yet, Aaron Rodgers returned to the New York Jets on Saturday for the first time since suffering his Achilles injury in the team’s regular season opener. The reason? He wanted to attend the Jets’ team meeting, where he delivered a message to his teammates.

Rodgers told his team to “stop pointing fingers.” He’ll also be in attendance on Sunday night when the Jets host the Kansas City Chiefs at MetLife Stadium. It’s the first time Rodgers has been able to attend a game since his injury due to not having medical clearance to fly just yet following surgery.

Yet, Rodgers is still on crutches. Which, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, means Rodgers is not expected to join his teammates on the sidelines due to safety reasons. He is expected to be in a private suite instead, though likely not the same one Taylor Swift will likely be in.

While Rodgers won’t be able to help provide insight to Zach Wilson from drive to drive, the four-time MVP has been speaking to the young QB every day, in addition to talking and face-timing with other teammates.

Wilson will make his third start of the season, and Rodgers still has a long road to recovery, as anyone overcoming an Achilles tear usually does.

The Jets head to Denver to face the Broncos next week, but there’s no word on if Rodgers will hit the road for that matchup too.
