It’s no secret that Jamal Adams and the New York Jets aren’t seeing eye to eye these days. Could the All-Pro safety be on his way out the door?

Jamal Adams on Jets: ‘Maybe it’s time to move on!’

While perusing his Instagram account, Adams saw a comment about his current contract situation with the Jets. It seems to have caught his interest in a big way, because he responded with a fiery comment of his own.

Field Yates of ESPN shared the comment on Twitter. Adams complimented other top players who are about to get paid. Then, he wrote, “Ima protect myself just like an organization will look out for themselves at the end of the day. & if you guys don’t respect that, cool. It’s all luv. Maybe it’s time to move on!”

The Jets and Jamal Adams are at odds over his contract

At the center of all this frustration is one simple fact: Adams wants to get paid, but the Jets aren’t moving toward a contract extension at this time. Recently, on social media once again, Adams made it clear that he is frustrated with the Jets and that they aren’t working to give him a new contract.

Adams shared that the Jets haven’t sent him a first proposal on a new contract. He also wrote, “A lot of talk no action.”

Selected sixth overall out of LSU during the 2017 NFL Draft, Adams has lived up to the hype. In his first three seasons as a pro, he’s racked up 273 tackles, 12 sacks and two interceptions.

There has been a ton of trade rumors surrounding Adams the past year. If the Jets continue to spurn him in contract talks, those rumors will likely heat up big time as the NFL trade deadline approaches this fall.
