New York Jets safety Jamal Adams has been in trade rumors since the NFL trade deadline during the 2019 season. The All-Pro safety could now be back on the trading block with friction reportedly growing between Adams and the organization.

According to NFL insider Gary Myers, the Jets have shown little interest in signing Adams to an extension with two years remaining on his rookie deal. As both sides find themselves in a stalemate, the 24-year-old’s patience with the organization seems to be wearing thin and a trade is possible.

The Jets discussed a blockbuster trade with the Dallas Cowboys in October, but the deal for Adams fell apart at the trade deadline. The discussions surprised Adams and he didn’t speak to general manager Joe Douglas for some time. While he wanted to remain in New York a few months ago, his feelings toward the Jets are reportedly shifting.

While many on the team believe trading Adams would be crazy, the organization at least seems open to the idea. It would take an extraordinary offer to pry the star safety away from New York, but there will be plenty of teams willing to try.

If the Cowboys want to make a huge addition to their secondary, Adams would be the perfect addition. Jerry Jones has shown a willingness to make a huge offer and Adams would certainly love to play at home in Texas. If the Cowboys don’t make the right offer, there will be a plethora of other NFL contenders willing to do whatever it takes to land Adams.
