Report: Teddy Bridgewater expected to get about $30 million per season in free agency

Teddy Bridgewater Bears

The NFL free-agent market is going to be absolutely insane once it opens up in about a month. Almost half of the teams around the league have $50-plus million to spend on the open market.

This could very well benefit former Pro Bowl quarterback Teddy Bridgewater who is going to be in line for a starting job next season.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Bridgewater’s market is expected to pay him around $30 million annually. You read that right, $30 million.

This is absolutely insane for a dude that has started a combined five games since the end of the 2015 season. By now, Bridgewater’s story is well known. He suffered a devastating leg injury during the summer of 2016 and has not held down a full-time starting job since.

A first-round pick of the Vikings back in 2014, Bridgewater won all five of his starts for an injured Drew Brees on the New Orleans Saints last season. Though, he averaged just 153.8 yards per game and threw nine touchdowns.
