Report: Antonio Brown ignored Saints’ request not to bring entourage to workout

Free-agent wide receiver Antonio Brown got his first free-agent workout this week since being released by the New England Patriots. However, his workout with the New Orleans Saints didn’t come without controversy.

According to FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer, the Saints told Brown not to bring his entourage with him to the workout with the team. Brown reportedly ignored that request, bringing his entourage along anyways.

It’s not surprising given Brown’s history. He posted the free-agent waiver on Instagram, a move the normally tight-lipped Saints likely didn’t approve of, as well.

The 31-year-old receiver remains one of the most talented players in the game, though he hasn’t had a chance to show it for much of this season after being released following multiple sexual assault allegations against him.

While New Orleans is among at least 20 teams that would love to sign Brown, the NFL’s ongoing investigation into the allegations against Brown is ongoing. The former All-Pro receiver hasn’t done himself any favors on Twitter.

He went after the NFL on Nov. 7 then clarified his threat to retire hours later. He seemed to turn a corner following an apology for his behavior a month later, before he started blasting the NFL just days later.

It remains unlikely that we see Brown return to the field this season or for the playoffs. However, even with the risks surrounding him, there is more than enough interest to make a return in 2020 happen if the NFL allows it.
