The Washington Redskins did not trade seven-time Pro Bowl left tackle Trent Williams on Tuesday, and after the deadline passed he reported to the team.
Former Washington star cornerback DeAngelo Hall was the first to report this, and shortly afterward NFL insiders confirmed his breaking news.
This is a rather stunning development, because Williams had, through the media, made it very clear that he never wanted to play for Washington again.
He was upset over the way the team’s medical staff treated a medical emergency earlier this year and has been a holdout since the offseason programs began.
It’s unclear when Williams might be ready to return to action for Washington. He hasn’t practiced since last year. But if he can play this season, it would most certainly be a huge boost for an offense that’s struggling badly right now.
