The Washington Redskins have made it crystal clear they won’t trade Pro Bowl left tackle Trent Williams this season, but he could be moved in the offseason.
Speaking about this dynamic Saturday, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo shared that he’s been told by multiple sources that Williams could be traded after the season is over.
He said Washington’s thought process is that moving Williams now doesn’t help them now, and that the team would rather have an idea about what potential draft slots it would get in return — hence waiting until after those slots are known.
Cleveland Browns general manager John Dorsey has been trying to pull off a trade, but Washington has rebuffed his efforts. Per Garafolo, Dorsey has called every week for roughly the past month and a half.
Now we know why.
