The San Francisco 49ers have been talked about as the favorites to acquire star receiver Antonio Brown from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite that, no formal trade talks have begun.
Pittsburgh general manager Kevin Colbert noted that three teams have inquired about Brown. But coach Kyle Shanahan said that San Francisco is not one of those teams.

We’ve seen players — both past and present — campaign for Brown. Brown himself has done plenty to imply that San Francisco would be a desired location.
The 49ers would seem to be an ideal trade target for the Steelers. While they do play each other in 2019, the two teams play in opposite conferences and on different sides of the country. As such, it’s a little surprising that San Francisco has yet to formally inquire.
That said, it’s still hard to imagine the 49ers not being heavily involved in the process before all is said and done.
