The Los Angeles Chargers will attempt to remain in the AFC West race without star running back Melvin Gordon.
The Pro Bowler has been officially ruled out for Thursday night’s divisional battle with the first-place Kansas City Chiefs. It’s the third consecutive game Gordon will miss with a sprained MCL he suffered back in Week 12.
Chargers’ RB Melvin Gordon will not play tonight vs. Chiefs, per @JeffDarlington.

This comes with backup Austin Ekeler also having been ruled out after suffering a stinger in last week’s game. Rookie seventh-round pick Justin Jackson will likely get a vast majority of Los Angeles’ carries against the Chiefs.
Obviously, this is less than good news for the Chargers. Though, at 10-3 on the season, Philip Rivers and Co. are nearly guaranteed a playoff spot. Getting Gordon back for the postseason has to be the goal now.
