Josh Gordon’s return continues to be a work in progress. Last week he was activated and cleared to begin practicing only to have a hamstring injury suffered in his conditioning test keep him from taking the next step.
On Friday, head coach Hue Jackson said Gordon will be able to begin practicing on Monday in a somewhat limited fashion.
#Browns Jackson said Gordon will practice on Monday, the next time out for the team in prep for #Steelers. A little bit more than limited. "He'll get into the route-running'' aspect of it

This likely means that Gordon will be hard pressed to be physically ready for the team’s first game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 9. That said, the Browns have been hoping Gordon would be able to get himself into game shape in time for the opening game.
When healthy, there are few receivers as dangerous as Gordon around the league. Playing in just 14 games back in 2013, he led the entire NFL in receiving yards, hauling in 87 passes for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns.
The former supplemental draft pick has struggled with addiction, however, and has missed most of the past four seasons on suspension.
