Josh Gordon was activated on Saturday and went through conditioning with the Cleveland Browns for the first time this summer. Unfortunately, even that little bit of activity was enough to put him in the trainer’s room with hamstring tightness.

No doubt, this is a frustrating development for Gordon, and for his coaches.

During the last episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks” offensive coordinator Todd Haley seemed concerned that Gordon might not be able to get into game shape quickly. This development certainly won’t help matters, and it almost certainly will mean he won’t be able to play in the team’s final preseason game on Thursday, which had been a target.

When healthy, both in body and mind, Gordon is among the league’s best receivers. During the 2013 season, he led the league with 1,646 receiving yards, despite playing in just 14 games.
