Josh Gordon to participate in walk throughs and enter ‘phase 2’ of return

Josh Gordon

Josh Gordon still has not been fully cleared to return to practice for the Cleveland Browns, but he’s one step closer now after moving into “phase 2” of the team’s process.

On Friday, Hue Jackson said that Gordon will begin participating in walk throughs, which means he’ll start the physical process of learning offensive coordinator Todd Haley’s system with his teammates.

Earlier this week, Jackson said there is a possibility that Gordon will be cleared to practice in advance of the team’s final preseason game, and that he would not be opposed to letting Gordon play in that game, if he’s ready.

The Browns are bringing him along slowly, and when Gordon does return he’ll not be a starter, per the FOX Sports broadcast Thursday night. However, if he is able to get back to his full potential on the field and stays out of trouble off of it, there’s no reason to believe Gordon won’t soon be an integral part of Cleveland’s passing game.
