Dez Bryant and the Cleveland Browns held discussions that lasted nearly 24 hours, but in the end the free agent receiver left without a deal.

On Thursday as Bryant met with the Cleveland brass, it was reported that any potential deal between the two parties would not be imminent.
Head coach Hue Jackson also made it clear that, even though it was encouraging that Bryant was in for a visit, fans shouldn’t just assume that he’d be joining the team. The Browns needed to figure out whether Bryant would really fit in, and no doubt finances have something to do with this as well.
It’s going to be interesting to see what comes out of the meeting Bryant had with the Browns. As Tom Withers of the Associated Press noted, the two sides will continue to have conversations about a potential deal.
If he does join Cleveland, then it’s hard to imagine Bryant would be a heavily featured option in the passing game considering Jarvis Landry’s role, and considering the young talent that is emerging in that offense. If he can wrap his head around being a complementary player, rather than a star, then Bryant could be a big help to a team that appears to be on its way up.
