Report: Dez Bryant deal with the Browns not imminent

Free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant was seen landing in Cleveland earlier on Thursday to meet with the Browns, at which point the former Pro Bowler talked about the possibility of signing with the team.

It’s not yet known how far along the two are in the process. But according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, no deal is expected before Friday.

Pretty much the only team that has shown recent interest in Bryant, there’s been an intriguing back and forth between the two sides in recent weeks. That included Browns GM John Dorsey saying Bryant wouldn’t return his calls. In turn, Bryant responded on social media by indicating that he wants to meet with the team.

While said meeting has taken place, there’s no telling whether Bryant will ultimately land with the Browns.

If it were to come to fruition, the veteran would join a solid skill-position group that already includes Jarvis Landry, Josh Gordon, David Njoku and the three-headed running back monster that is Carlos Hyde, Duke Johnson and rookie Nick Chubb.
