The Cleveland Cavaliers have made it clear that they’re not about to go into full-scale rebuild mode after LeBron James left in free agency for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Cleveland still believes it can contend in what has been a weakened Eastern Conference. Whether that equates to anything more than a bottom rung playoff spot remains to be seen.
But following James’ exit, rumors continue to persist that Cleveland is in fact looking to trade away some of its veteran assets. That has in the past included Kevin Love and Kyle Korver.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, The Cavaliers don’t want to necesarily trade either veteran. Though, the NBA insider also notes that the only real untouchable on the team’s roster is rookie lottery pick Collin Sexton.

The Sexton angle is intriguing in that Cleveland pushed back against including him in a deal for Charlotte Hornets All-Star Kemba Walker. Certainly, the Cavs think they can build around the Alabama product moving forward.
As it relates to Love and Korver, both have movable contracts. Still an All-Star performer, Love is due just south of $50 million over the next two seasons. Meanwhile, the 37-year-old Kover has two years remaining on his deal at a total value of $15.1 million.
