Report: Cavaliers want to trade veterans George Hill, Kyle Korver

With LeBron James gone, the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to unload more veterans. According to a report, the four-time defending Eastern Conference champs are looking to unload George Hill and Kyle Korver.

“The Cavs are facing a rebuild with LeBron James’ departure,” Ashish Mathur of Amico Hoops noted. “The franchise wants to unload Hill’s massive contract and, ideally, acquire draft picks in exchange for Korver, sources said.”

Hill is owed $19 million for the 2018-19 season. If a team is willing (and able) to pay that, he can still be a valuable contributor. Between Cleveland and the Sacramento Kings, he averaged 10 points and 2.8 assists per game in the 2017-18 season. Hill shot 46 percent from the field, 41.5 percent on threes, and 78.6 percent on free throws.

Korver is owed $7.5 million in 2018-19, which should be a much easier salary to unload. He averaged 9.2 points a game during the 2017-18 season, shooting 45.9 percent from the field, 43.6 percent on threes, and 88.9 percent on free throws.

It’s also been reported recently that Cleveland is open to moving Kevin Love. We’re 100 percent behind that move. It’s time for the rebuild to begin in earnest.
