The Minnesota Vikings, strongly linked to Kirk Cousins, are not letting the opportunity to reach out to Drew Brees pass them by.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Vikings have already reached out to Brees (who’s had other teams show interest as well) about potentially joining them in free agency.
Just said on @nflnetwork: The #Vikings have made a call on Drew Brees, per league source. Their plan going into the day was to engage agents for all their QB options. Well, Brees is technically available. No stone unturned.

When the Saints allowed Brees to go unsigned ahead of the tampering period, we wrote it could spell trouble for New Orleans. Because now Brees is fair game.
And though both the Saints and their longtime quarterback have expressed a desire to remain an item, the door is now wide open for another team to make a strong pitch. The Vikings sure have the money to sign Brees to a lucrative short-term contract, and they have a definite championship window built in, especially if he’s there leading the offense.
Much like Peyton Manning signing with the Denver Broncos back in 2012, Brees landing in Minnesota could lead to quite a power shift in the NFC. We cannot wait to see what happens next.
