Jordy Nelson is a hot item right now after being released by the Green Bay Packers on Tuesday. He’s visiting with the Oakland Raiders Wednesday and will have a very special chauffeur taking him to team facilities, according to Fallon Smith of NBC Sports Bay Area.
Apparently, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is meeting Nelson at the airport.

That’s how you make a guy feel special. That’s how you reel in the free agents. And based on some of the other teams that are lined up to meet with Nelson should he leave Oakland without a deal, it’s a necessary approach.
Though he had a rough 2017 campaign playing much of the season without Aaron Rodgers, Nelson has long been a top-tier receiver in the NFL. In the three seasons he played from 2013-16 (Nelson missed the 2015 season with a torn ACL), he averaged 1,363 yards and nearly 12 touchdowns per season.
Add him to Oakland’s lineup and you’re looking at something special. Though, one player who could see Nelson’s addition as a huge negative is Michael Crabtree, whose position on Oakland’s roster is tenuous, at best.
