NFL reviewing Rob Gronkowski hit for potential discipline

Rob Gronkowski

Following the New England Patriots’ 23-3 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, most of the post-game conversations surrounded a late hit Pats tight end Rob Gronkowski put on Bills rookie corner Tre’Davious White.

While both Gronkowski and New England head coach Bill Belichick apologized after the game, the Bills were seemingly having none of it (more on that here).

There’s a chance that Gronkowski could in fact be suspended for next week’s game against the Miami Dolphins. And the NFL is now reviewing the play to determine what potential discipline the All-Pro tight end might receive.

Said discipline itself will likely come down in the next 24-36 hours. It could include a fine and/or suspension.

New England sits at 10-2 on the season and currently holds the top seed in the AFC, one half game ahead of Pittsburgh. Losing Gronkowski for one week, even if it’s against the Dolphins, could hurt the team.
