Those whole follow the NBA regularly know that San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich can be a little blunt at times. He’s that way when talking basketball during his in-game interviews. Popovich has a similar approach when talking about other matters — like giving back to the community.
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was asked why he thinks it’s important to give back to the community: “Because we’re rich as hell and we don’t need it all, and other people need it. Then, you’re an a– if you don’t give it. Pretty simple.”

Well, that’s one way of putting it. One has to wonder if Popovich had anyone in mind, or if it was just a general statement.
Either way, the overall message is right. Many people in professional sports do give an awful lot to their communities, which is generally highlighted most during the holiday season.
