Earl Thomas keeps spat with Bobby Wagner going

If the Seattle Seahawks are spending their days bickering on social media while still in the midst of a playoff race, imagine what might happen once they’re eliminated from playoff contention.

A season that’s gone downhill fast took another turn following Sunday’s humiliating blowout loss to the Rams. All-Pro defenders Earl Thomas and Bobby Wagner decided to take to social media as a way to call one another out after losing to Los Angeles, 42-7 (more on that here).

Days removed from that altercation, Wagner indicated that the two had talked to resolve their differences behind closed doors.

“We spoke,” Wagner said in video posted by Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times (h/t Pro Football Talk). “We ironed things out like we always do. Moving forward, we’re focused on making sure we finish off this season right. We still have a lot out there for us.”

One might think it would end there. Nope. Thomas then proceeded to take to social media again, disputing that him and Wagner actually did talk. In the process, he made sure to keep the spat alive.

“There wasn’t no conversation. It is what it is. We move on. If that’s how you feel, that’s how you feel,” Thomas said. “Nah, ain’t no patching. If that’s what’s in your heart, cool. Let’s finish strong.”

That’s a whole lot of fun, isn’t it?

At 8-6 on the season, Seattle faces the possibility of falling completely out of playoff contention with a loss to the Cowboys this upcoming weekend. These two might want to focus more on stopping Ezekiel Elliott in his return to the field following a six-game suspension. After all, Seattle has yielded 400 rushing yards in the past two games — both losses.
