Could the Jaguars already be looking to trade Allen Hurns?

Former Miami (F) standout Allen Hurns broke out big time for the Jacksonville Jaguars back in 2015, recording 1,000-plus yards and 10 touchdowns.

Immediately after that awe-inspiring performance, Jacksonville signed the former undrafted free agent to a four-year, $40.7 million extension. Unfortunately for both sides, Hurns responded by putting up just 35 receptions for 477 yards last season.

It’s now led to speculation that the Jaguars might be looking to trade the young receiver.

It’s interesting to note that Hurns has not played yet this preseason. It could very well be the Jaguars attempting to keep him healthy, furthering any compensation they receive in a potential trade.

Then again, it’s increasingly difficult to gauge just how productive Jaguars receivers can be with Blake Bortles tossing the rock all around the field (almost literally). Bortles has been an absolute joke during the preseason, which has led to an open competition for the starting job.

If the Jaguars decide to move on from Hurns, there’s a whole plethora of teams that will show interest in his services. After all, the lack of production we saw last season had more to do with Bortles than anything else.
