Report: Joey Bosa could miss the next two weeks

The San Diego Chargers may have added rookie defensive end Joey Bosa to the active roster this week. That doesn’t mean that he’s anywhere near returning.

Bosa, who was a hold out until the final preseason game this summer, is currently dealing with a hamstring injury. It’s limited him in practice and actually forced the Ohio State product from the field on Wednesday.

It’s now being reported that Bosa will likely miss the next two weeks of action (via NFL.com).

This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. In addition to dealing with the hamstring injury, Bosa needs to get back into playing shape. That’s obviously been hampered over the past couple weeks.

San Diego is going to need some production from its No. 3 pick. The team’s defense was torn to shreds by Alex Smith and the Kansas City Chiefs last week.

Any sort of an upgrade from a pass-rush standpoint would surely help. It just remains to be seen when (and if) Bosa will be able to make an impact as a rookie.
