A significant update has surfaced regarding the series of mystery videos recently posted by WWE, shedding light on the likely identities involved and the purpose behind the teasers.

Over the past couple of days, WWE released four short videos featuring different pairs of black shoes walking towards the camera, sparking widespread fan speculation. Initial guesses ranged from a potential individual return or debut to the formation of a new faction, given the distinct footwear shown in each clip.

However, a report from PWInsider Elite suggests the videos are not teasing an imminent return or debut but are instead connected to promotional efforts for WrestleMania 42.

According to the report, several top WWE superstars were present at the company’s headquarters last week to film promotional content for the major event, which is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas in April 2026.

WWE Names Behind The Videos

Among the names confirmed to have participated in the filming session were Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and Brock Lesnar. While the PW Insider report doesn’t explicitly confirm that these three individuals are the specific people featured in the walking videos, it states that the current belief is that the teaser clips are derived from the promotional material filmed during that session.

WrestleVotes also added that the full video is expected to be released today.

Fan speculation had already pointed towards Brock Lesnar possibly being the person in the fourth video, based on the specific shoes and jeans worn. The PWInsider report reinforces the idea that these videos are tied to major names and the upcoming WrestleMania promotion.

Crucially, the report concludes that PWInsider “has learned the videos are not previewing a return, as some have assumed”. While the videos appear to be forward-looking promotional material for WrestleMania 42, the current status of the rumored participants varies.
