Angel Reese endured a nightmare performance in her home debut with the Atlanta Dream, finishing with just 9 points on 1-of-8 shooting, 8 rebounds, and a game-high 8 turnovers in a 1-point loss to the Las Vegas Aces.
No wonder she’d rather be fined than actually face the media.
The former Chicago Sky star was quietly benched late in the contest as Atlanta rallied from a 19-point deficit but ultimately fell short. Her +/- for the game was a dreadful -13.
Oh, and did we mention she had 8 turnovers in her 29 minutes on the floor? We did? Well, it bears repeating. That’s one turnover every 3 minutes and 38 seconds.
The rough outing has intensified scrutiny on Reese, with fans and critics piling on social media.
“Didn’t think it was humanly possible, but Angel Reese is actually getting WORSE,” one sports account on X wrote. “Somebody CLEARLY didn’t work on her game in the offseason.”

“She’s not a good player, man,” one fan argued.
And it’s tough to argue back at this point. Think about this—if she had managed to get one more point and two more rebounds in there somewhere, the media would have hyped up another one of her “double-doubles” … and it still would have been a horrendous game.
“Her game is just garbage. Layups are flimsy, and she has no other shot besides a layup,” another wrote.
I’ve got news for you. She can’t make the layups either.
Chicago Sky Teammates Were Reportedly Sick of Angel Reese
The criticism comes amid lingering reports from her time in Chicago. According to a previous report following her trade to the Dream, several Sky teammates were allegedly thrilled with her departure, with insiders claiming “they were getting sick of her” and viewing the move as necessary for team chemistry.
The alleged internal tensions in Chicago appear to have followed Reese to Atlanta, where her early struggles have raised questions about her fit and overall game.
At this point, is it even fair to say she has game? Her high turnover rate and inefficient scoring in the loss to the Aces have fueled doubts about whether the hype matches her current production at the professional level.
It doesn’t. The Dream are playing well, but they’re playing better without her on the floor. They’re 2-1 thus far, and in those three games, Reese’s +/- has been -13, +1, and -3, for an overall difference of -15. Compare that to Caitlin Clark, who is +6, +14, +5, and +2 for an overall difference of +27.
You know who else is playing very well right now? The Sky are 3-1 to start their first season without Reese. They finished the 2025 campaign with Angel losing 21 out of their last 24 games. Meaning they’ve won the same number of games in four contests as it took them in 24 at the end of 2025.
I took a lot of heat on social media for reporting that her old Sky teammates were happy she was traded, but I’d be willing to bet they’re downright thrilled.
“They (teammates) were getting sick of her, and to make this trade was very much needed for the health of the organization moving forward,” a source told the Daily Mail.
