Kentucky Wildcats quarterback Will Levis is one of the most divisive players in the 2023 NFL Draft, with many scouts and evaluators split on his future and draft stock. While Levis is expected to be a top-five pick, not every NFL team is sold on him.
Levis, entering his age-24 season, struggled in his final season at Kentucky. Playing through injuries and with a new offensive coordinator, the 6-foot-4 quarterback experienced significant statistical regression from his breakout 2021 season.

Despite the on-field struggles, many NFL coaches and executives were still high on Levis. He’s an above-average athlete with elite arm strength, offering the tools to build him into a high-end quarterback at the highest level. He also came from a pro-style offense, mirroring many of the elements used in the Shanahan system that is widely popular around the league.
However, it appears the pre-draft process for Levis resulted in some around the league dealing with more uncertainty than before they met him.
According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, multiple NFL teams were left with questions about Levis’s personality after interviewing him during the pre-draft process. Notably, per Breer, the Indianapolis Colts aren’t one of the teams that have an issue with Levis’s personality.

NFL Draft rumors have linked several teams to Levis in recent weeks. He flew to Foxborough for a pre-draft visit with the New England Patriots and recent reports suggested he could be drafted second overall by the Houston Texans.
However, Indianapolis remains the likeliest landing spot. Multiple NFL teams identified the Colts as the best fit for Levis. Furthermore, the widely-held belief around the league is that Indianapolis is fully committed to drafting Levis if he’s available with the fourth pick, rating him as one of the best players in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Colts seem committed to Levis, straying from the opinion held by other teams that his personality is a slight concern and his level of play doesn’t warrant a first-round pick. Whether or not Indianapolis is right will be determined in the next three years.
