TORONTO – After his epic admission here at the NHL All-Star Draft on Thursday, perhaps it’s time for Michael Buble to record his own versions of classic tunes “High,” “Back in the High Life Again” or “Higher Love.”

The Grammy Award-winning pop star crushed social media by admitting he took mushrooms before participating in the draft at ScotiaBank Arena. A rabid hockey fan, Buble was celebrity captain for one of the four teams and made his out-of-nowhere admission during a press conference after the event.

The Vancouver native was in the middle of discussing how successful he is at fantasy hockey when he suddenly veered off course.

“My buddy told me it was a microdose of mushrooms. He was lying,” Buble said. “I thought I was in Blades of Glory for most of the time that I was out there until it settled down and I realized ‘Holy S***, I’m at the NHL All-Star Game.”

Buble, a big Vancouver Canucks fan and part-owner of the Vancouver Giants in the Western Hockey League, was pretty entertaining inside the arena during the draft, too. In one funny moment, Buble told the crowd of 16,000+ that it took him three hours to prep his hair for the big event.

On a night when Auston Matthews, Connor McDavid and Justin Bieber were among the megastars taking part in the NHL All-Star Draft, Buble stole the show.
