WATCH: Kevin Durant (Achilles) looks healthy with impressive drive and slam

The Brooklyn Nets signed Kevin Durant hoping he could fully recover from a torn Achilles. Now more than eight months after he suffered the injury, it looks like the Nets’ gamble will pay off.

While Durant won’t return this season, he put his skills and recovery on display Tuesday. The 31-year-old star might still be working to regain his full explosiveness, but the ability to take flight and throw down some powerful dunks is back.

The 2019-’20 season certainly hasn’t gone as the Nets hoped. Kyrie Irving played in just 20 games before undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery and Kenny Atkinson got pushed out the door.

Fortunately, the future remains bright if Durant and Irving can stay healthy. The Nets have proven they have some exciting, young talent to pair with Durant and Irving next season. Now they just need their stars to be ready to compete when the 2020-’21 season arrives.
