Washington Wizards star reportedly under investigation for battery after fan altercation

Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal is reportedly under investigation by police in Orlando, Florida following an alleged altercation with fans following the team’s loss to the Magic last week.

It has been another frustrating season in Washington for Bradley Beal and the Wizards. The team is nearly 10 games under .500 and several games out of the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. Injuries have again limited his playing time this season, and it seems like all of that frustration came to a head after the team’s 122-112 loss to the Orlando Magic last week.

On Monday night, TMZ Sports broke the news that Orlando Police Department is investigating the Washington Wizards great over possible battery charges. An incident allegedly occurred between Beal and some fans at the Amway Center as he left the court following a third straight loss on March 22.

It all started after one fan yelled, “You f***ed me [out of] $1,300, you f***!” Bradley Beal allegedly turned toward a group of individuals and knocked the hat off one of their heads. He then reportedly responded to them by saying, “Keep it a buck. I don’t give a f*** about none of your bets or your parlays, bro. That ain’t why I play the game.”

The Washington Wizards star and the hecklers reportedly argued back and forth for nearly a minute and things allegedly became heated before Beal was ushered away to the team’s locker room.

According to police documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Beal is being investigated on possible charges of battery after a formal complaint was lodged soon after the incident. The outlet claims the Orlando Magic revealed they are aware of the situation and “are letting the OPD handle it.”
