The first day of the NBA Playoffs is off to an outstanding start and Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard just delivered the first must-see posterization that basketball fans won’t soon forget.
Los Angeles trailed 75-71 in the third quarter against the Dallas Mavericks and desperately needed a spark in Game 1. Fittingly, Leonard came through on a fast break.
Mavericks forward Maxi Kleber tried to be the hero in a 3-on-1, seeing the Clippers’ star head straight for the rim. When the 6-foot-10 forward tried to go up for a momentum-swinging block, Leonard threw it right down in Kleber’s face with the one-handed slam.
The fantastic posterization sent Kleber crashing to the court and sliding into the padding of the hoop. Leonard’s teammates instantly erupted at the site of the epic throwdown, which made it a two-point game.
As instant replays flashed different angles of Leonard’s poster, the basketball world erupted at the biggest Game 1 highlight.
