With the Baltimore Orioles already having problems in their starting rotation to start the 2024 season, disgraced former Cy Young winner Trevor Bauer is hoping the team gives him a serious look to fill one of those voids.

The Orioles received a double dose of bad news on Thursday when it comes to their starting pitchers. Ace Kyle Bradish — who finished fourth in the 2023 AL Cy Young voting — will begin the season on the injured list due to a strained ulnar collateral ligament in his pitching arm. Such injuries can often be an early sign that Tommy John surgery could be a possibility in the near future.

Then there is the situation with lefty John Means, who was expected to be in the rotation this season. After Tommy John surgery two years ago he is, unfortunately, a full month behind schedule on his recovery and may not be ready for opening day on March 28.

While the Baltimore Orioles made a huge trade to land 2021 Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes this month, these new injuries hurt the starting rotation and offer up some new concerns for one of the weaknesses on the roster. Well, Trevor Bauer thinks he knows a guy who can help fix the team’s problems.

On Thursday, a fan on X — formerly Twitter — asked the disgraced one-time All-Star “Thoughts on playing in Baltimore this year?” To which Bauer gave an honest answer.

“I think it makes a lot of sense for the team and I’d love to play there. Great match,” Bauer wrote on X.

Trevor Bauer stats (Japan-2023): 11-4 record, 2.59 ERA, 1.130 WHIP, 160 SO, 156.2 IP

The Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Guardians, and Cincinnati Reds veteran served 194 of the 324-game ban he received from MLB over allegations of sexual assault from multiple women in 2021 and 2022. While he was suspended he was never charged with any crimes.

He pitched last year in Japan for the Yokohama Bay Stars and was impressive as he posted a, 11-4 record with a 2.59 ERA and 1.130 WHIP in 24 starts.
