Tom Brady had a definitive response to a new round of rumors that he was set to make a second comeback to the NFL, and it was rather funny.

After 23 seasons in the league, Tom Brady retired for a second time in February. The NFL icon was emotional in the video posted to his social media accounts as he brought an end to one of the greatest careers in sports history.

However, immediately after Brady announced he was done with professional football, many fans and analysts were skeptical. Just a year prior, the three-time NFL MVP also claimed he was done playing football, only to walk it all back a little over a month later.

Unsurprisingly, with all sorts of rumors swirling around the NFL Combine last week, the annual event was even able to generate speculation on Brady’s return. On Monday, broadcaster Rich Eisen claimed on his “Rich Eisen Show” that folks around the combine in Indianapolis claimed the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB may not be done after all, and to “keep an eye on Miami.” A team he was linked to as a possible new home last year.

Tom Brady stats (2022): 4,694 passing yards, 25 TD, 9 INT, 90.7 rating

Well, the word of his apparent return plans got back to Tom Brady on Tuesday, and he took to his Twitter account to respond to the rumors. “Anyone who thinks I have time to come back to the NFL has never adopted a 2-month-old kitten for their daughter.”

Tom Brady was trending over the weekend after posting a video on his social account showing a pair of Siamese kittens wrestling around. The video can be seen above.

There will always be intrigue surrounding the 15-time Pro Bowler playing in the league again. Especially since he had a strong showing in 2022 at 45 years old. Plus, the fact that nearly a dozen teams could use a quarterback upgrade only intensifies the interest.

Nevertheless, with his marriage in shambles after deciding to return to the game last season, it seems likely that this time around Tom Brady will stick to his word and remain retired from the NFL. At least in 2023.
