Tom Brady could start a ‘Super Team’ with top free agents?

Tom Brady Cowboys rumors

As rumors continue to swirl regarding Tom Brady’s landing spot for the 2020 season, many NFL teams are already planning to pursue the future Hall of Famer. As Brady considers his options, multiple other NFL free agents could reportedly look to follow him to whatever team he chooses.

According to NBC Sports Boston’s Tom E. Curran, many close to Brady believe other free agents will be interested in joining forces with him for a shot at winning a Super Bowl. Specifically, Curran notes that Brady might look to bring wide receiver Antonio Brown with him to whatever team he signs with.

Brady invited Brown to stay at his home when the star receiver joined the Patriots. Following New England’s decision to release the troubled receiver, Brady was reportedly livid with the organization for cutting ties with the team’s top receiver. He remained angered by the decision deep into the season, too.

Of course, Brown’s future in the NFL remains uncertain. Following a string of legal trouble and concerns over his behavior, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell focused on Brown receiving help rather than sharing when the NFL might allow him to return. The league’s investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against Brown is ongoing and he was recently charged with battery at his home.

If another team shows interest in Brady but not Brown, perhaps he could look to pair up with another free-agent receiver. Danny Amendola, a former teammate, will be a free agent this offseason and could be a familiar weapon for Brady. If the team has enough cap space, they could potentially even go after Amari Cooper or A.J. Green to pair with Brady.

Given Brady is more focused on being surrounded with a better supporting cast than receiving a bigger salary, interested teams could take advantage of that this offseason. While Brady might no longer be playing at an elite level, putting great players around him would make whatever team he signs with an immediate Super Bowl contender.
