Texas Tech second-leading scorer Terrence Shannon Jr. declared for the NBA draft on Thursday but won’t hire an agent.
The sophomore guard made his announcement on Twitter.
“After consulting with the Texas Tech coaching staff and my family, I have made the decision to pursue this opportunity, and enter my name in the 2021 NBA Draft while retaining my eligibility,” Shannon posted.
Shannon averaged 12.9 points per game this past season for the Red Raiders, who finished 6th in the Big 12 with an 18-11 record. Shannon led the team with 1.1 steals per game. Shannon scored a team-high 20 points for Texas Tech when it lost to Arkansas in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Coach Chris Beard left Texas Tech to become the new coach at Texas.
