Tennessee Titans running back Hassan Haskins arrested, charged with aggravated assault

Tennessee Titans running back Hassan Haskins has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation, stemming from an alleged incident with his girlfriend in June.

Haskins was arrested on Thursday, stemming from an incident that allegedly happened to his girlfriend on June 22. He was booked into Davidson County (Tennessee) and then was released after paying $10,000 bond.

According to a police report obtained by ESPN, Haskins allegedly strangled his girlfriend during a disagreement that started after he saw she “liked” another man’s photo on Instagram. It led to an argument, with his girlfriend allegedly throwing his shoes on the floor.

Haskins allegedly told her to stop and when she didn’t, he is accused of pushing her to the ground and then tossing her on the bed where he then used both hands to strangle her. The accusation goes on to state that the fight continued, with the two slapping one another.

It was the first of two allegations made against Haskins. He also allegedly left her at a restaurant on Thursday, causing her to take an Uber back to their residence. When she returned and saw Haskins, she allegedly threw a glass at him and then sought safety in the bedroom. Hasins allegedly kicked the bedroom door down, leading to an argument that resulted in his girlfriend grabbing the $5,000 chain off his neck.

Haskins was then accused of shattering her phone which she then responded to by grabbing his phone and finding Snapchat notifications, opening them to find naked women in the chats. In a statement provided to police, Haskins said that she attacked him with a broom and choked him from behind.

The Titans’ running back also accused her of throwing a PlayStation 5 and putting a hole in the wall, providing a video to police. Makiah Greenm Haskins’ girlfriend, was charged with aggravated assault by strangulation and felony vandalism. She was released after posting $7,500 bond.

Tennessee released a statement shortly after the arrest, confirming they were aware of the news and had begun gathering more information.

“We are aware of the situation and gathering additional information.”

Selected with the 131st overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Haskins was previously a second-team All-American with the Michigan Wolverines. He’s currently third on the depth chart behind Derrick Henry and Tyjae Spears.
