Interesting tidbits:
- Wembley Stadium was built over the original Wembley and opened in 2007.
- The stadium hosts major football matches and sporting events from across the globe.
- Wembley Stadium is the second largest stadium in Europe.

- The Arrowhead Stadium is the 27th largest stadium in North America.
- The Chief fans broke the Guinness World Record for loudest crowd roar at an outdoor stadium in 2013.
- Lamar Hunt is a major figure in NFL history.
#8 – Mile High Stadium

Interesting tidbits:
- The Mile High Stadium began as a baseball only stadium. Only after several expansions did it become the home of the Denver Broncos.
- The stadium was originally built for the Denver Bears, by 1992 they had become the Denver Zephyrs and had moved to the Pacific Coast League.
- The potential threat of snow could make for great TV.

- The Motor Speedway is a NASCAR short track.
- The Bristol Motor Speedway is one of the most popular tracks because of its unique features; steep banking, all concrete surface, two pit roads and stadium like seating.
- The Speedway is the 4th largest sports venue in America, the 8th largest in the world.

- The Michigan Stadium is nicknamed “The Big House”.
- The Big House is the football stadium for the University of Michigan.
- The Big House is the largest stadium in the United States, the 3rd largest in the world.
- The extra seat (109,901) in the stadium is reserved for the former athletic director, Fritz Crisler. The seats location is not specified.
- Every home game has drawn over 100,000 spectators since November 8th, 1975.
#5 – Wrigley Field

Interesting tidbits:
- Originally named the Weeghman Park but was renamed by William Wrigley Jr. the chewing gum magnate.
- Between 1921 and 1970 the stadium was also home for the Chicago Bears.
- The stadium is nicknamed “The Friendly Confines”, this was popularized by Hall of Famer Ernie Banks.
- Wrigley Field is the 10th smallest actively used ballpark.
#4 – Aloha Stadium

- The stadium has hosted the NCAA’s Hawai’i Bowl, the National Football League’s Pro Bowl and the NCAA’s Hula Bowl.
- The stadium carpark is used locally as a swap meet every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. This swap meet draws huge crowds.
- The stadium was once the home field for the Hawaii Islanders of the Pacific Coast League before they moved to Colorado Springs.
- The home of many Pro Bowl games deserves a chance for the Super Bowl.
#3 – Fenway Park

- Fenway Park is the oldest Major League Baseball stadium in use. It opened in 1912.
- Due to Fenway Park’s age and constrained position its renovations have resulted in a unique venue. Features include the famous “Green Monster”, “Pesky’s Pole” and “The Triangle”.
- Fenway Park’s centennial was on March 7th 2012. The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places at this point.
- Fenway Park is considered to be one of the most well-known sport venues in the world.
#2 – Soldier Field

- Soldier Field is the oldest NFL stadium and also one of the smallest.
- Soldier Field had extensive renovations in 2003.
- The stadium opened in 1924 as Municipal Grant Park Stadium, changing its name to Soldier Field November 11th, 1925.
#1 – Lambeau Field

Interesting tidbits:
- The Lambeau Field was renamed in 1965 after Packers founder, player and long time head coach Curly Lambeau who died that year.
- The street Lambeau Field is on was called Highland Avenue, until it was renamed to Lombardi Avenue in 1968 after former head coach Vince Lombardi.
- The Super Bowl trophy is called the Lombardi Trophy.
- The Green Bay Packers won the first Super Bowl in 1957, in Green Bay.
