Steve Kerr: Kevin Durant will probably play on Thursday

Kevin Durant

The Golden State Warriors are closer to getting one of their best players back. Kevin Durant, who has been out since mid-March with a fractured rib, will probably be available for Thursday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

This is welcome news for the Warriors. Coach Kerr has recently noted that Stephen Curry will be out through at least the first round of the playoffs. So, getting at least one of the team’s remaining stars back will be welcome.

On the one hand, the final regular season games aren’t terribly meaningful to the champs. They have essentially no chance of chasing the Houston Rockets down for the Western Conference’s No. 1 seed and are all but locked into the No. 2 seed.

Still, while the remaining games will not impact its seeding, Golden State certainly wants its best players back on the floor to work out any kinks before the postseason begins.

Following Tuesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers, the Warriors will have eight regular season games remaining.
