South Carolina QB Zeb Noland has knee surgery, expected back Nov. 6

South Carolina quarterback Zeb Noland is expected to play Nov. 6 against Florida, despite undergoing surgery Tuesday for a meniscus tear in his right knee.

The Gamecocks have a bye this weekend.

Coach Shane Beamer said Wednesday that Noland’s surgery “went really well.”

“He’s back in the facility this morning, moving around pretty good, believe it or not, after a procedure like that yesterday,” Beamer said.

Noland started the season as a graduate assistant but became the starting quarterback. He started the first three games, then Luke Doty took over. Doty now is out for the season following foot surgery, and Noland is expected to start going forward.

On the season, Noland has completed 39 of 67 passes for 512 yards, with six touchdowns and an interception.
