Liam Rosenior has been very open to giving youngsters a chance since being appointed as Chelsea head coach, and he just took it a step further.
Chelsea captain Reece James has been the standout from the academy, and whilst he’s still a star in the current Chelsea ranks, the club have switched to more of a foreign talent policy.
Even though teenage centre-back Josh Acheampong is now a first-team mainstay, the club has focused more on the Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez’s of the world coming over from South America.
Arguably, it’s a transfer policy by Todd Boehly and Co. that has worked well, with Willian and compatriot Andrey Santos putting up impressive displays in a Chelsea shirt, so far this season.
Well, the academy ranks may just have produced a new star, as Liam Rosenior has handed the chance of training with the first team to a 16-year-old.

Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli spotted in training with senior team at Chelsea
Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli has made three appearances for Chelsea U21s, despite turning 16 years old just two weeks ago.
A couple of months ago, Mahdi became Chelsea’s youngest-ever goalscorer in the UEFA Youth League, and he’s widely regarded internally as one of the club’s most promising academy prospects.
Now, the highly-rated youngster has made it a level up at Cobham, finally taking part in training sessions with the first-team squad.
However, despite his call-up by Rosenior, the youngster isn’t included in the Champions League squad, so it looks like it will just be for experience sake.
While this isn’t the first time Madhi Nicoli-Jazuli is training with the first team squad at Chelsea, it is the first time he’s been spotted with the senior side since Liam Rosenior was appointed as manager.
