There is widespread confidence over the future of Chelsea after the decision was made to appoint their new manager, Liam Rosenior.

Enzo Maresca’s successor will be in the stands for the West London derby against Fulham on Wednesday night, although Under-21s coach Calum McFarlane will be in charge of the first team for the game.

Man United legend Wayne Rooney is one of those who have sung Rosenior’s praises after working with him previously at Derby County. Meanwhile, the new manager has since met with the squad ahead of leading them into the FA Cup tie with Charlton.

Furthermore, some Blues players like Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho have already displayed eagerness to work with Rosenior at the club.

But despite the fanfare following his arrival at Stamford Bridge, there will be pressure on the Chelsea hierarchy to get this managerial appointment right.

Rosenior is the fifth permanent manager already since co-owner Todd Boehly took over the ownership of the club, and now a Blues legend have told the billionaire owner to back the new coach.

John Terry tells Todd Boehly to support Liam Rosenior in transfer market

Rosenior has said the timing of his arrival was not ideal, but the fact he has arrived during a transfer window could be used as an advantage.

As such, John Terry has told Boehly and company to ensure they back Rosenior in the market in order to give him the best possible chance of success at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea legend sent this message to the owners via a video posted on his TikTok page.

“I’d like to wish him (Rosenior) all the very best. You have an opportunity to come into the building. The players, everyone’s going to be looking from a football perspective, all about results,” Terry said.

“January transfer window coming up. Hopefully the board and the owners are going to back him and give him some money to go in the transfer market and bring some players in,” he added.

Liam Rosenior reportedly asked for assurances in the January transfer market during discussions to join the club. Now, with Terry’s urging, Boehly and co may well give him the full backing he needs.
