NFL fans hoping to get a glimpse of Seattle Seahawks star rookie receiver D.K. Metcalf Sunday night will have to wait for another opportunity.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network shared that Metcalf was a surprise scratch for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings due to “leg soreness.”

This is a bummer, because this was supposed to be Metcalf’s first chance to shine on the national stage with Russell Wilson tossing him the ball. Last weekend, he only caught one pass, but he busted open for what should have been a big play if not for an overthrow by Geno Smith.

Metcalf was extremely hyped after his stunning combine workout in February but ultimately fell to Seattle in the bottom of Round 2. All the reports coming out of Seahawks camp have been overwhelmingly positive so far.

Hopefully the young receiver can avoid injuries this year — something he struggled to do as a collegiate athlete.
