Deebo Samuel and the San Francisco 49ers absolutely wrecked the rival Dallas Cowboys at home Sunday night, winning by the score of 42-10.

For San Francisco, it represented the team’s fifth consecutive win to open the season and third victory over the Cowboys in as many tries over the past two-plus years.

It’s the continuation of a rivalry that drew some bad blood from the 1970s to the 1990s when a majority of the players on each team weren’t even alive.

Despite this, we’re now seeing a war of words between the two sides. It started with 49ers star George Kittle wearing a “f**k Dallas” shirt under his jersey during Sunday’s game. Cowboys Pro Bowler Micah Parsons was not too happy about that.

“George Kittle had three touchdowns on us. And he posted this thing to IG,” Parsons said on Monday. “He said ‘f**k Dallas.’ I just feel like he’s making it way more personal than it had to be. Kittle’s my guy, but (I will) say this. Laugh now, cry later. We got something for that. Just trust. If we see them again, just trust.”

Parsons also noted that he believes the Cowboys are on the same level as their counterparts and that the final score of Sunday’s game doesn’t tell the entire story.

About that? Samuel decided to respond to Parsons one day later. He did not hold back in his belief that the 49ers are a much better team.

“It was already personal. 42 to 10, I don’t think you wanna see us again,” Deebo Samuel said Tuesday, via UP & Adams on FanDuel TV. “It might be a little bit worse.”

Samuel really provided the Cowboys bulletin board material should his 49ers face Dallas in the playoffs for the third consecutive season. Remember, San Francisco beat the Cowboys in the posteason each of the past two years. It certainly seems that this is a rivalry renewed decades after the two sides battled it out for a Super Bowl title seemingly ever year in the early 1990s.

“I don’t know what we’re ‘trusting.’ He’s talking about ‘we trust,’ you know, ‘laugh now, cry later.’ I mean, I don’t think y’all wanna see us again,” Samuel continued.

As for the trajectory of these two teams, San Francisco has now won 15 consecutive regular-season games. Sunday’s victory over Dallas included the 49ers going up 42-10 just one minute into the fourth quarter before both teams pulled their starters.

Even then, a rematch in January could end up telling a much different story. What we do know is that things will be heated should it end up taking place.
