There have been multiple recent reports suggesting the Seattle Seahawks will move on from tight end Jimmy Graham. Teams including the New Orleans Saints, Graham’s former team, are already showing interest.
But wait. The Seahawks apparently have not consulted with quarterback Russell Wilson — who doesn’t want Graham to leave. This is what Wilson had to say about the tight end.
“Jimmy’s my guy, Wilson said, via TMZ Sports. Of course [I want him to stay].”
Though when confronted as to whether he would talk to head coach Pete Carroll or the Seahawks’ front office, Wilson declined to comment.
Graham is expected to hit free agency on March 14. And the bottom line in Seattle was, Graham was not utilized to his full ability as a Seahawk. He never topped 100 targets in any of his three seasons there and scored just 18 touchdowns.
As a Saint, Graham drew no less than 125 targets per year, during his prime time catching passes from Drew Brees. A potential reunion awaits there.
