Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams hasn’t shown up to training camp and may not ever return to the organization.

According to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington, a source close to Williams said the seven-time Pro Bowl left tackle is “not coming back. Period.”

Williams has a couple of bones to pick with Washington.

The first grievance Williams has with the Redskins revolves around a health issue that required surgeries on his scalp. Williams reportedly is upset with Washington’s training staff over the way it handled this issue from the start when it was thought he could be dealing with a major health scare.

The second issue revolves around money. Though he still has two years remaining on his current deal, Williams reportedly isn’t satisfied with the guarantees left on the contract.

If Williams isn’t on the team’s roster come Week 1, then his 2019 salary is no longer vested. However, Finlay reports that Williams is absolutely fine with that situation playing out and that “the threat of fines that could reach up to perhaps $500,000 are of small consequence to the veteran left tackle.”

This holdout situation appears to be one that will last all season, unless Washington can find a trade partner.
