The Cleveland Browns remain the laughingstock of the sport world, and it’s not necessarily that close. Head coach Hue Jackson is overseeing yet another variation of the Factory of Sadness, the Browns missed out on acquiring an overrated backup earlier this week and the team finds itself at 0-8 on the season.
Heck, it’s also paying Brock Osweiler nearly $900,000 to start for the Denver Broncos this week.
There’s a lot of blame to go around as to why Cleveland continues to be a joke. And now, that’s apparently not lost on USC quarterback Sam Darnold.
According to this report from MMQB’s Albert Breer, Darnold could in fact decide to return to the Trojans for the 2018 season under one condition.
The Browns have the first pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

We hate to break it to Browns fans, but that’s a real possibility. Cleveland is right there with the San Francisco 49ers as the only two winless teams in the NFL And San Francisco just found an upgrade at quarterback in the form of Jimmy Garoppolo.
We also hate to break it to Darnold that Cleveland could very well be in possession of the first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He can’t stay in college forever. This isn’t Old School.
In all seriousness, there’s been reports surfacing recently that Darnold may indeed decide to remain at USC beyond the 2017 season. Based on his up-and-down performance thus far, that might be a good idea for the talented youngster.
