Report: Rockets to officially part ways with Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony’s career with the Houston Rockets lasted all of 10 games. With the future Hall of Famer having sat the past few outings while things get worked out behind the scenes, Houston has decided to officially move on from the 10-time All-Star.

This shouldn’t be considered a surprise. It was reported over the past week that Houston had already made the decision. With an announcement expected prior to Thursday’s game against the Warriors, Anthony’s short career with the Rockets is done.

It concludes with the 34-year-old veteran averaging 13.4 points on just 41 percent shooting from the field.

Once Anthony clears waivers and becomes a free agent, the Los Angeles Lakers are among the teams reportedly interested in him. That list also includes the New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers.
